Rich Cohen
of Distant Village / PURE Labels will travel to California from March 24-26 to take part in the 2015 Fair Trade Federation Conference. The annual conference, which takes place in Del Mar, California (a short drive from San Diego), offers fair trade industry members and others the chance to connect and learn. This year, the conference has two new big features: A Pre-Event Conference for Retailers that is focused on helping businesses master and streamline the ordering process, and a Food and Farm Symposium to support the burgeoning fair trade farming community and provide education in best practices and business development.

The main event features nearly two-dozen panels and speakers, including Stacey Toews from Level Ground Trading, Katy Leakey from The Leakey Collection, and Candi Horton from Baksheesh Fair Trade. The conference will also host the daily Fair Trade Expo, where attendees can connect with Fair Trade businesses from around the country and take part in on-site demonstrations.

Distant Village and PURE Labels wants to make sustainable packaging a bigger part of the discussion in the Fair Trade Community in 2015 and beyond. To that end, Rich Cohen will be attending the conference and will be available for one-on-one meetings with anyone interested in learning more about sustainable packaging and labels. On Tuesday he will be visiting the Dr. Bronner company home base for a guided tour.

Please reach out any time and follow us throughout the Fair Trade Federation Conference online via Twitter. We’re happy to provide you with samples of our eco-friendly products! Our labels are compatible to Avery products and those from many online retailers such as Sticker Mule and Lightning Labels and our custom designs use agri-based inks.
